The final written report

TRUSSARDI collection is one of the high-end brand which emphasis on dark tone colors. Black, white, and violet with different hues are the basic color of the TRUSSARDI overall collections. For example, PANTONE 195- 1C , PANTONE DS 202-1 U and PANTONE DS 179-1 U are often applied on the products of the company. TRUSSARDI uses black, white, and violet with different hues as her basic color, by fitting with the brand image. While white color represents purity, perfect. Black represents formality, and tradition. And violet represents stateliness, and royalty. These three colors can satisfy the meaning given by the brand logo of Greyhound. Analogous, complementary and monochromatic color schemes generally paired with achromatic color schemes with black, white, silver, gold and gray. But purely achromatic color schemes garments also can be found throughout the collections. In general, monochromatic color scheme was mostly applied to the TRUSSARDI collections. To brighten up the luxurious, traditional and elegance feeling, the dark tone with black, white, and violet with different hues mixed with the hair style and manner of the models is the key to target the customers who care about the luxury life like noble, emphasis on social class, perfect, and to take the lead.

















Since color is the neutral, it can’t only give out the message by out social norm and our perception. To bring out the feeling of noble, traditional and elegant, the TRUSSARDI gives color with such messages by using the hair styles and the action take by the models. Playing violin is one of the ways to bring out classical and elegant feeling.

Indeed, the low value hue and low chroma dominated the Women Fall/Winter, Men Spring/Summer and Men Fall/Winter collection of TRUSSARDI. But there are some changes in the year around 2006-2008, there are more hues with high value applied throughout the collections than the years before, and the color cycle was found in the Fall 2000 Ready to Wear (women) and the Milan spring/summer 2008/2009 collection.



The collection above is my forecasting of TRUSSARDI 2009 Fall/Winter (women). Monochromatic and analogous color schemes combined with back, white and grey are used. Since, purely achromatic color schemes garments always can be found throughout the TUSSARDI collections, so the styles No.2 of my forecasting only used the color of back, white and gray with different hues. The basic colors of TRUSSADI are wisely applied in the collection. TRUSSARDI only sold the accessories at the very beginning by emphasizing its leather products with high quality. We can find that TRUSSARDI sometime wants to stand out the accessories by using a monochromatic scheme with only one hue format applies on the garment which contract with accessories with very share color, such as silver and gold. So, in the forecasting collection, the waist band of the model in style No.3 has a high value with high chroma.
Since the TRUSSARDI target customer is the people who are rich, and they have noble minds, the style No.5 of my forecasting is using violet with different values and intensity variations.
Because there are more use of color with high value for the TRUSSARDI in the precious year, the colors used in the style No.4 are contributing 50%. You can find that the hues of the pencil skirt (PANTONE 542 U) and the high- hill shoes (PANTONE 207-9 U) are in high value.
Although, the analogous color scheme and red hue are rarely be used for the main focus in the winter collection of TRUSSARDI, red color with different variations of value and intensity are always applied on others products of TRUSSARDI such as bag and belt. So, by keeping the color use of red to maintain the tradition of TRUSSARDI, I design style No.1 in my forecasting collection with analogous color scheme of using red and violet, adding color of back, white and gray.To conclude, I believe the TRUSSARDI 2009 Fall/Winter (women) followed the tradition of using the basic colors of black, white and purple. And colors from achromatic color schemes will keep on dominating the collection. More hues with high value seems to be used because there are the trend of the changing style of TRUSSARSI from color hues with low value emphasized to the rise of the color hues with high value in the recent year.

Trussardi




Brand Image and colors comment used related to the
brand image


The basic colors used by Trussardi are highly related by the brand image. Trussardi uses the greyhound as the logo. Greyhound is the pure-blooded dog with a long history. In the middle ages, Greyhound is a popular pet between nobles.

Since the Greyhound represents the meaning of elegance and tradition, because of the long history of the dog. The target customer of Trussardi is the people who care about the luxurious life like noble, emphasis on social class, perfect, and to take the lead.


The colors usually used by Trussardi are :
White
Black (Pantone)#0A0C11 ,
Violet with different value and chroma
These three hues are very suitable to reflect the message bought by the brand.


White represents purity, perfect, innocence.
Black represents dignity, formality, and tradition.
Violet represent stateliness, royalty, formality. Violet is also the color used by the King clothing in the past.













To fitted with the target customer of Trussardi who are emphasis on the social status, perfect, and to take the lead. I have no doubt that Trussardi used white, black and violet as her colors commonly used.


Color scheme theory
In the color scheme theory, Trussardi uses analogous, complementary, monochromatic, achromatic paired with brown, silver, white, black, grey and gold.


Since the target customer of Trussardi are the noble in the European countries and the high class people, the silver and gold which represent wealthy are always be applied in every collection.





The colors used in the collection of women wears are mainly low value with high or low chroma in the old day. It is highly related to the meaning giving by the darkness. Dark color or hues with low value converts the feeling of calm and dependable. This suitable to the meaning given by the Trussardi to the customers -- high quality, luxury, perfect, noble preference. Trussardi uses hues with low value to create a dependable feeling. The customers of the Trussardi are the people who want to make themselves dependable.



The cycle of the colors

There are the cycle of the color pattern found in the Trassurdi collection. The left one is from the Milan spring/summer 2008/2009. The right one is from the “Fall 2000 Ready To Wear”. We can find that the used of color are very similar.
